FAQ

Hello lovelies!

I've seen a few questions being asked across my videos/Twitter etc, so I decided to create this page to answer any burning questions you may have! Have a look around, and if this hasn't covered everything, be sure to Tweet me anything else you may have to @basicallybea_ and I will do my best to respond!

Why does your voice sound like that?

I am transgender female. My voice is a little deeper than I'd like it to be for that reason. I usually avoid discussing my gender in videos/streams/posts. Please try to be polite if someone asks about it!

Why do you avoid talking about your gender?

I think that people who fight for equality/LGBTQ+ rights etc are beautiful, incredible humans. Advocates are leading the fight for change, acceptance and justice. I, however, aren't an advocate. I don't speak out about these things unless I need to, unless it's vital or important. It's a little hard to explain, but, I believe there is so much more to a person than just their gender identity. I don't want anyone to come here and think "Oh, there's Bea, the transgender person". I want people to come here and think "Oh, there's Bea, the funny, quirky, odd person who's content I like to watch/read". I think people who fight for equal rights are terribly important and terribly brave, but that's not why I created this blog, or my channels. I created them to share my personality, who I am on a level that I am comfortable with. To play games, to laugh, love and cry. To chit chat about silly things. It's not that I don't want to fight for my rights, it's that I don't want to publicly discuss it. Not to mention, it makes me feel terribly awkward and uncomfortable.

What is your job/what do you do for a living?

Currently I am a student. I technically have a "part-time" job which pays my bills. I am very lucky for my part-time job to be this. My "platform" if you will. Not this blog in particular, but my assorted YouTube channels/Twitch channel, other bits and bobs and of course my Patreon. Those things are helping me along while I learn, and funding my aspirations so that I can continue to work hard for my dreams.

I will add more questions here as I see them pop up! Again, feel free to tweet me anything you'd like to know, and I might even add it in here!
